When a severe crash takes place, even the airbag did not burst, the vehicle will still automatically call the OnStar. And the customer service advisor of OnStar will make response immediately and provide the below information to the correspondent rescue institute to carry out rescue if necessary.
- crash direction and strength;
- if more than one crash occurred;
- if rollover accident occurred (if your vehicle is equipped with rollover sensor);
- if there is airbag burst and the number and quantity of the burst airbag;
Note:The function of collecting above information of items 1-4 is estimated to be realized by the end of 2010. The detailed extent of the information collected depends on your vehicle's equipment and configuration.
Note: when driving certain vehicles, if your operation is violent, it also may cause an automatic calling to the OnStar customer service center. In this case, you need only tell the customer service advisor that you did not suffer crash accident.
