Shareholders

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) is one of China’s three great automotive companies.  A Fortune 500 company, SAIC Group is the controlling shareholder of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, which is the largest automotive company in China. SAIC Group directly manages the business of components and parts, auto trade services as well as other capital-based business. In 2006, the sales volume of vehicle of SAIC Group was over 1,340,000 – the highest  sales volume among automotive groups in China. In the first half of 2007, SAIC Group maintained its lead, with a sales volume of more than 840,000,000 in the China domestic market.

Apart from directly operating and managing automotive components and parts as well as automotive trade services, in October 2006, the SAIC Group merged its core vehicle business with SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, with an 84% share. At the end of September 2007, the SAIC Motor Corporation Limited officially changed its name to SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (Group), (hereinafter referred as “Shanghai Motor”). Shanghai Motor is the largest company in China’s A-share market. Its  wholly-owned subsidiaries consist of companies dealing in passenger cars, the joint venture of SGM, SVW and Shanghai Sunwin Bus Corporation, the holding company of SGMW and Sangyong Motors, components and parts enterprises such as power transmission, chassis and electronic and electric which close related to vehicle development, and automobile financial enterprises. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary of SAISC, Shanghai SAIC Group holds 40% equity of Shanghai OnStar.

OnStar (US) was established in June 1995, and officially launched in September 1996. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of GM, OnStar is the leading provider of vehicle safety information. By applying GPS and wireless communication technology, OnStar’s vehicle safety information system is able to provide services to customers.  OnStar has established a service industry based on the features of vehicle business and voluntarily concern the customers to provide safe and reassuring driving service to the drivers via wireless communication resolution.  At present, OnStar has over 6 million Subscribers in the United States  and Canada. OnStar, LLC holds 40% of the equity of Shanghai OnStar.

Shanghai General Motors Corporation Limited was established on June 12, 1997, as a joint venture of  SAIC Motor Corporation Limited and General Motors, who each hold 50% equity.. Its extraordinary sales volume helped it become an important force in China’s auto industry. Shanghai General Motors Corporation Limited presently operates Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and Saab vehicle brands. In 2008, Shanghai General Motors Corporation Limited officially launched the its “green” strategy, dubbed, “Green and Dynamic Future” and plans to continuously bring ecologically-friendly models with “better function, lower energy cost and less emission” to market.   Shanghai General Motors Corporation Limited holds 20% equity of Shanghai OnStar.
