November 21, 2011, Shanghai - Today, Shanghai OnStar Telematics Service Co., Ltd. announced previewed two new telematics services, which will be launched in the near future, at the Ninth China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition. The two new telematics services are – Mobile Application – Turn by Turn Navigation and Cadillac VIP Dedicated Seat Package. The upcoming version of upgraded OnStar mobile app became the focus of attention.
On June 30, Shanghai OnStar launched its first telematics mobile app in China. Through their smart phones , OnStar subscribers can request services like Remote Start, Remote Door Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn & Lights and Real-time Vehicle Data, which were limited to sci-fi movies previously. Vehicle owners can not only experience driving pleasures when driving, but also enjoy peace of mind when outside the car around the clock.
Shanghai OnStar's updated smartphone app "Mobile Application – Turn by Turn Navigation" will be launched at the end of 2011 and is expected to be widely adopted by users. The mobile app - TBT allows users to search for point of interests and set it as destination. An accurate navigation path will be generated automatically as soon as they send the destination information to the vehicle . The OnStar system will start Turn-by-Turn Navigation according to the generated path after starting of the vehicle and guide the owner to reach the right destination, without any in-car operation. The navigation path can also be saved into History or Favorites and be used anytime in the future.

1.The first released OnStar mobile application is applicable to smart phones with one of the five operating systems including iPhone OS, Android, Symbian, Windows Mobil and BlackBerry.

n addition, to support Cadillac after service marketing strategy, Shanghai OnStar also previewed "Cadillac VIP Dedicated Seat Package", which will be launched recently for Cadillac owners. The package includes unlimited sound control & hands-free phone service, and will provide telematics services to Cadillac owners by dedicated advisors from OnStar call centers.
In October, Shanghai OnStar Telematics Service Co., Ltd. became the first joint venture in domestic telematics industry to get Grade A Internet Mapping Service License and was authorized to provide a variety of services including map search, location service, geographic identification services, map download, copy service, and map delivery and reference services, among others. The First-grade Qualification on Surveying and Mapping for Internet Mapping Service qualification not only guaranteed the legitimacy and sustainability of all location based services (LBS) currently provided by Shanghai OnStar, but also laid a solid foundation for OnStar to develop and introduce new services in the future.
As of October 31, 2011, two OnStar call centers in Shanghai and Xiamen have provided nearly 7.6 million navigation services for domestic subscribers, made over 300,000 remote door unlocks to save customers' time, delivered emergency help to more than 90,000 Chinese drivers and successfully located 400 stolen vehicles, thereby assisting the local police in their investigations to return these vehicles to their rightful owners.
